For me, working with Mimbres classic design is like discovering a once lost treasure. Recreating the intricate patterns from their pottery onto the gourd is a real challenge. Many of my designs are done right on the gourds natural surface which allows the subtle color of the gourd to remain while accentuating the boldness of the burned in black design.

Fortunate are the few museums and collectors who are able to possess true authentic pieces of Mimbres pottery. With that in mind, I create this special collection of gourd art done in such a way as to represent the look and feel of archeological pieces. Never are they exact copies, yet accurate in many details, they are collectable art pieces as well as decorations of distinction.
